As if the development of an 8-core processor for mobile phones was not enough, Samsung unveiled yet another breakthrough advancement in mobile technology, in the form of a smartphone prototype that sports a flexible display.

Unveiled under the YOUM brand, the new Flexible OLED screen opens the door to devices with bendable displays, while also enabling companies to create products with screens that can be folded or rolled. Samsung has had flexible displays in the works for a few years now, and has even showcased some of them before but, this year, things appear to be different.

The panels were packed on actual devices, displaying running games, or received messages, which suggests that mobiles to include them might indeed be close. Have a look at the video above, starting with the 39:48 mark, to learn more on the matter.
