The M7 is Polaroid’s first try on Android tablets, but we’re not sure whether it will get enough attention given its unimpressive specs sheet.

Although Polaroid M7 is priced at $130/€100, thus undercutting Google’s Nexus 7 with quite a lot, the tablet fails to impress when it comes to hardware configuration.

The slate is powered by a dual-core processor and sports microSD card slot for memory expansion, as well as a 2-megapixel camera.

One of the few M7’s strong points might be the 7-inch HD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 1280 x 800 pixels resolution.

It is also worth mentioning that the M7 will ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box. According to Polaroid, the tablet will be launched “this Spring,” so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.

Question .. What is it about the hardware configuration for you that fails to impress? I, for one, am impressed! The connectivity is second to none, it has a 2 Megapixel front facing camera (Nexus 7's is 1.2), it has a pixel density of 216 ppi just like the Nexus 7, it has a fast responding capacitive touch screen, the body has a good solid feel to it, and for those who appreciate simplicity, Polaroid's skin for its Jelly Bean 4.1 is quite clean and very intuitive.

In case you're wondering, no, I'm not a Polaroid rep .. but I did get the distinct feeling that this writeup was written by a Nexus 7 rep.

Polaroid says it will be releasing the M7 in March. My plan is to buy the rumored iPad Mini 2 (if it's available) in March (some rumors say it will be), but if the rumors are wrong I'll buy a Polaroid M7. Heck, for that price, how can you go wrong. I do wish though that it had a rear facing camera (a very nice feature, in my opinion, on the iPad Mini).

Should I be impressed by every tablet with dual-core CPU and 2MP front facing camera ?

For example, there are hundreds of tablets in India with the similar specs that are priced lower than Polaroid's 7-inch slate.

I'm not saying the specs are not good. They are decent for what you pay ($130).
