Flat TVs will be surprisingly underrepresented in Las Vegas this year

I am not surprised to hear that LG's curved television sets will appear again at CES 2014 this year, but I am surprised that the company doesn't have any new flat ones to show off, at least in terms of OLED tech.

That's what will happen though. In fact, while a 77-inch, a 65-inch and a 55-inch curved OLED TV will be put on display, along with a bunch of previously unveiled models, only the Gallery OLED 55-incher will man the flat OLED outpost.

The 77-inch Ultra HD OLED was available as a prototype back in late 2013, but now it is ready to sell, under the name 77EC9800. It has 3D support, upscaling from Full HD to UHD and app support.

The same goes for the 55-inch 55EB9600, although this one is greener, made of recyclable parts. It also ships for well under $10,000 / €7,300 - €10,000.
