The first Windows Phone smartphones in the world to pack support for LTE connectivity are now official, and they will land on shelves at AT&T.

In addition to Nokia Lumia 900, the wireless carrier will make available for its customers the HTC Titan II device, as officially unveiled during the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Launched as the successor of the HTC Titan handset, that was made official back in September during the IFA show in Berlin, the new smartphone features the same large 4.7-inch touchscreen display.

The 4G LTE-equipped phone packs high-end hardware capabilities, such as a 1.5 gigahertz Snapdragon processor – though still a single-core chip.

Moreover, the new device sports a 16-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which is more than double than what other smartphones have to offer today.

The camera sports fast wide-angle lens (f2.6, 28mm), auto focus, dual LED flash, and can record 720p HD videos.

HTC Titan II’s specifications list also shows a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera that will certainly prove great when it comes to video calling.

“Shutterbugs will appreciate extras like red eye reduction, image stabilization, a panorama mode for landscapes, and a burst shot mode for sports or kids,” Microsoft’s Michael Stroh explains in a recent blog post.

The new mobile phone also comes to the market with a 1,730mAh Lithium-ion battery inside, and with support for HSPA+. It also offers Xbox LIVE gaming, access to Windows Phone Office Hub, Microsoft Exchange 2010 and Outlook Mobile, and HTC Watch for enjoying movies and TV shows on the go.

"HTC's history of innovation in 4G technology includes delivering the first 4G-powered devices to each major carrier in the U.S., so it is exciting today to continue that leadership with our first 4G LTE Windows Phone, the HTC TITAN II," said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corp.

"This full-featured smartphone combines HTC's design with AT&T's high-speed 4G LTE network and Microsoft's powerful Windows Phone software, giving people more of what they crave."

For the time being, no specific info on when HTC Titan II arrives on shelves at AT&T has emerged, though the wireless carrier said it would have it exclusively sometime in the coming months.
