CES 2012: Plextor PlexEasy Backs Up Your Data without a Computer

The PlexEasy stand-alone DVD burner was finally launched by Plextor, enabling users everywhere to back up the data on their SD cards, cameras, smartphones or tablets to optical discs.

The good news is that this little white gadget can do so everywhere there’s a power outlet available as it doesn’t need a computer to assist with this task.

Simply insert your SD/MMC card into the built-in reader or connect your iOS, Android, or Blackberry smartphone or tablet via USB to the PlexEasy and this little device will take care of the rest.

Digital cameras can also be attached via USB, and if no power outlet is in sight then you can also use a laptop computer for powering the PlexEasy.

Sadly, even though Plextor said it has released the gadget, no info regarding its availability or pricing was provided.

Oh, before we sign out, we should say that the PlexEasy can also be used as a regular external DVD burner.
