CES 2012: Panasonic ToughPad Tablet Turned Out a Bit Slow

Among the many other things that Panasonic brought to CES, the company has demonstrated a ToughPad A1 tablet.

We actually talked about the A1 (and B1) back in November, 2011.

As expected, the rugged slate was present at the 2012 edition of the Consumer Electronics Show.

Apparently, the people who got to play with it were left feeling a bit ambivalent.

While the A1 is indeed tough and has a matte screen good for outdoor view, it turned out not to be very well optimized for the Honeycomb Android OS.

Hopefully, all the little final touches will make everything run smoothly and fast by the time sales start, in May.

Then again, the military doesn't put as much stock on performance as consumers do, as long as the ruggedness is high enough.
