Even though CES is an event dedicated to consumer electronics, OCZ did not shy away from bringing along some enterprise-centric products.

OCZ has officially released the Z-Drive R5 (PCI-E model), Z-Drive R4 (also PCI-E model) and the Chiron (SATA) solid state drives.

They are all aimed at the enterprise sector and are supposed to have leading capacity and performance parameters.

The storage capacity of up to 16TB easily beats that of every other PCI Express drive out there.

The Z-Drive R5 doesn't attain that height, being limited to 12TB, but it does feature the Kilimajaro platform, developed by OCZ in conjunction with Marvell.

Considering the support for PCI Express 3.0 x16 and the bandwidth of up to 16 GB/s, the boastful claim about performance may very well be true.

The press release even mentioned 2.52 million IOPS and 7.2GB/s sequential transfers per card.

The Z-Drive R4 CloudServ RM1616 is not as fast as the R5 (6.5GB/s), but it beats it in storage space.

Basically, the latest addition to the R4 line can go all the way up to 16TB.

Finally, the company has built the Chiron SATA SSD, whose own capacity is 4TB (the largest among all SATA NAND Flash units) and data rates of over 560 MB/s.

“CES represents a great opportunity for us to showcase our latest storage technology, and highlight next generation cloud-optimized solid state solutions that address today's enterprise needs,” says Ryan Petersen, chief executive officer of OCZ Technology.

“Once again we have been able to leverage our increased R&D strength and our understanding of client needs to change the face of solid state storage and deliver innovative new solutions far ahead of our competitors, demonstrating technology leadership across all product categories.”

There was no mention of prices or availability, but OCZ intends to ship all three of the newcomers this year, so that all-Flash servers may become reality.
