Up to 1TB of storage space and 750MB/s transfer speeds

Right now confined to Apple’s products, in 2012, Intel’s Thunderbolt technology will make its entrance into the PC market and OCZ is getting ready for this moment with the Thunderbolt-equipped Lightfoot external SSD.

Presented by the company as the successor of the Enyo USB 3.0 SSD, this new drive boosts transfer speeds to 750MB/s according to its maker while offering up to 1TB of storage.

Smaller drives will also be available for those of us not needing as much storage capacity, but presumably these won’t be able to reach that impressive transfer rate touted by OCZ.

OCZ hasn’t said anything regarding the launch of its Thunderbolt-equipped external SSD, but AnanadTech has found out that pricing will set at around $2/GB, which is quite a lot if you ask me.
