Shortly after announcing its 4G LTE network launch, Sprint unveiled three of its first 4G LTE devices, the Galaxy Nexus and LG Viper smartphones, as well as the Sierra Wireless Tri-Network Hotspot.

There are no details regarding the phone’s exact release date or price tag, but the carrier states that more information will be provided closer to each device’s launch date.

Although Sprint’s Galaxy Nexus will probably make the headlines in the following days, the LG Viper is a powerful enough device as well.

In fact, this is one of the few eco-friendly LTE-enabled smartphones available in the market. LG Viper comes with a special sale package that included a charger with a no-load consumption rating of .03W.

According to Sprint, this “exceeds the EC Code of Conduct on energy efficiency and the casing is made of 35 percent recycled plastics.”

The Viper is powered by Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and features various Sprint ID packs, including Green, Fashion and Beauty, as well as NASCAR Sprint Cup.

On the inside, the LTE-enabled smartphone is equipped with a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, as well as dual cameras, a 5-megapixel rear photo snapper and a VGA front-facing camera for self-portraits and video calls.

Furthermore, the smartphone sports a brilliant 4-inch WVGA NOVA capacitive touchscreen display and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Wi-Fi hotspot capability and DLNA function are included as well, along with NFC (Near Field Communications) support via Google Wallet.

Galaxy Nexus packs industry-leading features and the best of Google into a beautiful design while LG Viper 4G LTE continues Sprint’s commitment to green devices that don’t sacrifice speed or technology. These products combine with our unlimited data pricing plans to give Sprint customers a powerful wireless experience,” said Steve Elfman, president of Network, Wholesale and Product Development for Sprint.

These both sound like awesome phones! I’ve been keeping an eye on the Google Wallet to see if it would make it through because I think it will be great if it catches on. I was paying close attention to everything at CES this year because I know that’s where all the big developments are announced. I was also glad to hear about the Hopper and the Walkman Z. The Hopper is from my employer, DISH, so I knew the announcement would be big, I just didn’t know what it was. I want to get the Hopper as soon as I can because all the DVR content is available in every room (up to four) rooms and, like the Walkman Z, it has a massive amount of storage. The Walkman Z also runs off Android and has access to the Android Market which I thought was fantastic.
