We’ve reported the other day on the Fujitsu’s mysterious quad-core smartphone and we thought that this is just some PR ramblings to advertise the company’s presence at the International Consumer Electronics Show.

However, it appears that the Japanese people never fail, if they promise something they deliver it, at least in most cases. A certain Fujitsu leaflet invited CES 2012 visitors to the company’s booth where a certain “new quad-core ultra high-smartphone” would be demoed during the trade fair.

True to its promise, Fujitsu has come up with an interesting device, which is now put on display at its CES 2012 booth. Although this is nowhere near a finished product, the folks over at DroidLife appeared to have been impressed by the smartphone’s capabilities.

Fujitsu’s prototype is equipped with a 1.2 Ghz Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor and sports a stunning 4.6-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen display that boasts HD resolution.

According to Fujitsu, the final product will be delivered with an enhanced 13-megapixel rear camera, as well as LTE support.

There’s no telling whether the smartphone will be globally launched or those fortunate Android enthusiasts living in Japan will be the only ones able to purchase this beast.

It is also worth mentioning that Fujitsu will continue to work on this prototype phone with quad-core processor and hope to be able to offer a much better device at the Mobile World Congress 2012, next month.

In other news, Fujitsu’s presence at CES 2012 is pretty consistent, as the company plans to showcase quite a range of high-end mobile devices.

Aside the quad-core prototype, Fujitsu plans to show off “world’s thinnest 6.7mm water-resistant smartphone,” a high-spec waterproof LTE-enable smartphone, a Windows Phone 7.5 Mango water-resistant smartphone, a REGZA smartphone with ultra-high resolution imagining engine, and a waterproof tablet with LTE support.
