You want to know what's better than an iPod docking station? Well, how about a double iPod docking station? That's right, the new JVC NX-PN7 is a device that doubles the pleasure of listening to music through iPod, as its dock ingeniously accommodates two iPod players side-by side. It can playback and charge the players simultaneously via the dock's speaker system.

Besides the iPod playback functionality, the system comes flavored with an AM/FM tuner, a clock and a timer. In addition, there's an analogue audio input for connecting other devices.

Since it measures a mere 13 inches wide, it's almost hard to believe the NX-PN7 can handle two iPod players. Regarding its design line, the system features a sophisticated shape form.

Here's what JVC's press release has to say about the design: "with a black cabinet and speaker grille, and controls arrayed clearly and logically in a band along the bottom. Adding a bit of flair are two illuminated strips, one under each docked iPod. These can display one of nine colors - including white, blue, red and others. The included remote features dedicated iPod control keys that simulate the iPod control wheel layout and users are able to easily shuffle, repeat, scroll and select songs from the iPod menu."

Moreover, for those searching for a portable iPod-playing substitute for the standard clock radio, JVC offers the RA-P31 system. Featuring an iPod dock as its main function, the system comes packed with some extra stuff like: FM tuner, calendar, dual alarm, white backlit display, two-inch built-in stereo speakers and a surround mode to produce a wider sound field. There is also an auxiliary input for connecting another playback device and it includes a remote control. The RA-P31 can both AC or battery-powered (six AA batteries).

To whom it may concern, the JVC NX-PN7 model will be available for 149.95 bucks, while the RA-P31 will cost about $99.95. Both versions are said to hit the stores in April. Meanwhile they'll be displayed at CES.
