Asus continues his battle for taking over the notebook market with some new "mass enjoyment" weapons. The Taiwanese PC manufacturer is showcasing its new range of notebooks
rigged with the latest Discrete Graphics Engine (DGE) from graphics specialists Nvidia and ATI.

Asus will start shipping the M50Sa and F8Sp notebooks until March. The models are built with the new ATI Mobility Radeon HD3650 that has been announced by AMD earlier this week. The VX2Sn, V1Sn, M51Sn, and F8Sn models come with the new NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS graphics processing units. The new technology will allow the notebooks to deliver maximum performance during the HD playback, while maximizing the support for Microsoft Windows Vista operating system.

The ASUS M50Sa and F8Sp models to come with the ATI Mobility Radeon HD3650 will be able to fully support Microsoft's DirectX 10.1 to arrive soon with the Windows Vista Service Pack 1. The new notebooks will be the ideal tools especially for the mobile gaming sector. Ati's HD3650 combines the discrete graphics engine with the PCI Express 2.0 support and the ATI PowerPlay to allow the notebook to find an optimal balance between power consumption (when running on batteries) and performance.

The other notebook branch released today by Asus includes the laptops powered by Nvidia's GeForce 9500M GS GPU. These PCs are rigged with the Nvidia PureVideo technology and boost the home-theater quality videos. Gamers will have all reasons to enjoy, as the GeForce 9500M GS GPU supports both Microsoft DirectX 10 Shader Model 4.0 and true high dynamic-range (HDR) lighting for a life-like gaming experience.

The new GPU architectures boost the graphics capability of users' productivity applications in order to maximize efficiency when paired with Microsoft's latest operating system, Windows Vista. Asustek announced that all the notebooks presented today will become available until the end of the first quarter, but failed to provide further pricing informations.
