The Japanese company Mitsubishi has had some pretty interesting developments in the area of display solutions over the past couple of years (remember the Laser TV?), and it looks like it's not about to stop any time soon. So, for this year's CEDIA expo, the manufacturer has announced a new line of products, the Diamond series, as well as an ultra-bright model, the HD8000.

According to the company's statement, the Diamond Series includes Mitsubishi’s new flagship home theater projectors, the HC7000U and the HC6500U. Both of these new full HD projectors feature an attractive external design, with a rich black cabinet that also offers quite a high level of noise protection, since they are only emitting around 17 dBa in low mode. Another very interesting detail worth mentioning about the HC7000U is the fact that it uses polarization in order to attain a very impressive contrast ratios, 70,000:1, which is among the best encountered on the market.

Besides the two Diamond projectors, Mitsubishi has also brought at CEDIA what it describes to be its first ultra-bright 1080p HD projector, which has been designed for more exposed, brighter home theater environments. Thus, Mitsubishi’s new high-brightness HD8000 delivers a 5000-lumen brightness level and also creates 1080p video images that don’t need a darkened room.

The HD8000 projector uses three 1.1-inch 3LCD inorganic panels and comes equipped with a DVI connector with an HDMI-to-DVI adapter for a wider range of HD connectivity options in a stylish black cabinet.

The models from the new Diamond series will retail for around $3,995 and $2,995 respectively, but they'll only be available through custom home theater system integration and high-end retail channels, which means that there are little chances that you'll actually be able to find one of these things in your local electronics store.
