CDlinux or Compact Distro Linux is a compact distribution of GNU/Linux that now has reached version 0.9.7.

CDlinux can be used as a “mobile OS” or as an admin/rescue tool. The latest version, 0.9.7, is built  from scratch and has proven to be stable enough.

There are a number of significant changes such as the new squashfs 4 filesystem. As a result, old .md files won't be recognized by default.

If users want to convert squashfs 3 .md files to squashfs 4, they should use “unsquashfs3” and “mksquashfs” (shipped with 0.9.7).

In line with the new trend, CDlinux 0.9.7 features Hybrid ISO. Users can “dd” the 0.9.7 ISO image onto a USB stick, and boot from it.

CDlinux 0.9.7 also ships with Linux kernel 3.1, glibc 2.14.1, GCC 4.6.2, X.Org Server 1.11.2, and Mozilla Firefox 8.0.
