CDlinux - Compact Distro Linux - a compact Linux distribution, has made another step in its evolution. It has reached version 0.6.1, which sports the latest Linux kernel, Xfce window manager, X.Org and some desktop applications in almost 60MB.

This is the second stable release of the 0.6 series and it ships with the 2.6.24.5 Linux kernel, Pidgin 2.4.1, Firefox 2.0.0.14, Xfce 4.4.2 and X.Org 7.3. It fixes a quoting bug in rc.modules and sports some brand new support for touchpad, lzma, pdf and better support for desktop icons and Mactel. In the previous versions it didn't handle hotplug too well; now, CDlinux 0.61 seems to manage it much better and it also honors DBus and HAL.

Here are some of the packages included in CDlinux 0.6.1:

? alsa-lib : 1.0.16 ? alsa-oss : 1.0.15 ? alsa-utils : 1.0.16 ? arj : 3.10.22 ? atk : 1.20.0 ? bash : 3.2.33 ? bftpd : 2.1 ? busybox : 1.10.1-cdl1 ? bvi : 1.3.2 ? bzip2 : 1.0.5 ? cabextract : 1.2 ? cairo : 1.4.14 ? cdrkit : 1.1.7.1 ? chntpw : 070923 ? indutils : 4.4.0 ? firefox : 2.0.0.14 ? flashblock : 1.5.5 ? fontconfig : 2.4.2 ? freetype : 2.3.5 ? fuse : 2.7.3 ? gawk : 3.1.6 ? glib : 2.14.6 ? glibc : 2.3.6 ? gpicview : 0.1.9 ? grep : 2.5.1-57.fc7 ? grub : 0.97-r3+findroot ? gspcav1 : 20071224 ? gtk+ : 2.12.9 ? gzip : 1.3.12 ? hal : 0.5.10 ? hal-info : 20080317 ? jfsutils : 1.1.12 ? jpeg : 6b ? less : 418 ? lftp : 3.7.1 ? libexif : 0.6.16 ? libogg : 1.1.3 ? libpng : 1.2.25 ? libusb : 0.1.12 ? libvorbis : 1.2.0 ? libxml2 : 2.6.31 ? lzma : 4.32.5 ? mc : 4.6.2-3.pre1.fc9-cdl20080426 ? mdadm : 2.6.4 ? module-init-tools : 3.4 ? ms-sys : 2.1.3

This is just a small part of the large amount of packages included in CDlinux 0.61. By the way, CDlinux has good i18n/locale support, with en_US, zh_CN and zh_TW officially supported, but users can easily configure CDlinux to support their own locales.
