When it rains, it pours, and when it comes to the CDMA iPhone model expected to arrive on Verizon Wireless' airwaves in the near future, there's always room for one more report. We can add a new item to the long list of rumors regarding the near availability of this device, as the CDMA iPhone is said to have already hit the field testing stage.

The aforementioned iPhone version is said to come with model number 3,2 attached to it, while packing support for CDMA networks, something new to Apple's handset family.

According to a recent article on BGR, even if the handset might not arrive on Verizon's network, the connectivity options it packs inside have been already confirmed, as well as the fact that this device hit the “AP” testing stage.

One interesting aspect of this device is the fact that it comes with a SIM card slot, which means that it would sport a different design than the currently available model.

There are great chances that the CDMA handset would arrive at Verizon with global connectivity capabilities, something that other phones at this carrier sport.

At the same time, rumor has it that the CDMA device might house support for GSM/HSPA connectivity options too, something that would make the device compatible with the airwaves of more than one wireless carrier.

Basically, this might result in a new iPhone 4 model being pushed to shelves in the near future, with CDMA connectivity options on board, in addition to the already present radios, and without the signal attenuation issues the original model had.

However, all this remains in the rumor side for the time being, even if the said CDMA iPhone model seems to be shaping up as a real, almost-here device.

Provided that these rumors would pan out in the end, we should see Apple and Verizon making an announcement in the near future, just as they announced not too long ago the release of iPad on the carrier's network.
