The development team at CD Projekt broke some players' hearts when it announced that it was officially delaying the launch of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on all platforms for February of next year, but it seems that this move will not affect the development process for Cyberpunk 2077.

Marcin Iwinski, the chief executive officer of the company, tells Gamespot that the two teams are at the moment almost entirely separate, although a minority of high-level devs are moving between the two to accomplish important tasks.

He explains that, "In order to ship a huge RPG we do use help of certain team members between teams. It works this way between Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3."

Iwinski is not offering any more information on the kind of technology that is shared between the two titles and is not yet willing to reveal more details on the kinds of mechanics that the two might borrow from one another.

The executive adds, "So no harm done here. We are working hard to deliver an outstanding RPG and rest assured, that all the learnings on The Witcher 3 are being applied to the Cyberpunk 2077 development."

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was supposed to be launched before summer of this year, but the company says that it needs the extra time to make sure that all the core elements of the experience are in place and that gamers get the quality they are expecting from a CD Projekt title.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on the PC, the PlayStation 4 from Sony and Xbox One from Microsoft and should be available in late 2015.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a very ambitious project and the final title in the trilogy that has followed the adventures of Geralt.

Players will be able to deal with one of the most powerful supernatural threats against humanity and they will also have to engage with one of the most important characters from the past of the protagonist.

CD Projekt is using an open world structure for the first time in the franchise, with a game world that is at least 10 times bigger than anything else they have previously created.

The combat system for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is also being revamped and a wide variety of side quests are being added, a majority of them focused on the monster hunting that's Geralt's main profession and source of income.
