During the Game Developer Conference the developers at CCP working on Dust 514 have hinted that Dust 514, which is currently only confirmed for a PlayStation 3 launch, might also get a PC based launch at a later date.

Speaking about the fact that the Sony home console version of the game supports both mouse and keyboard for character control the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Hilmar Pétursson, said, “I wonder why we did that.”

He also refused to deny that a PC port was in the works.

The PS3 version of Dust 514 will be free-to-play and will allow players to link with the universe of EVE Online, fighting on planets, with repercussions that will be seen in the space-based MMO.

Initially, the interactions between the two CCP made games will be limited, and ISK created in one of them will not be usable in the other, but the range of connections will be expanded as Dust 514 grows.
