In the month that CBS has debuted its collaboration with YouTube, the US television network has experienced a consistent increase in ratings. The CBS Late Show with David Letterman and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson have increased their audience by an estimated 200,000 and 100,000 viewers, respectively.

"Although the success of these shows on YouTube is not the sole cause of the rise in television ratings, both companies believe that YouTube has brought a significant new audience of viewers to each broadcast," said CBS Interactive President Quincy Smith. But the fact that the ratings of the two shows have jumped approximately 5% and 7% is nothing compared with the eyeballs the CBS shows are getting on YouTube. According to statistics delivered by YouTube, the CBS content has been viewed in excess of 29 million times, in the context in which CBS uploaded only 300 shows on YouTube attracting on average some 850,000 views per day.
