Also bringing a new dimension to the Coke vs Pepsi fight

By this point you must have heard about Amazon.com and in case you haven't I just hinted you where it's at. Pepsi, one of the leading brands in the world when it comes to cola, is no stranger either. Now they've teamed up and by their powers combined? no, there's no Captain Planet racing across the sky in order to stop pollution, but there's DRM-free music. In my book that's better. I don't know why, because it's not like I'm anti-green or anything.

Roughly, their campaign could be resumed to "drink the Pepsi, get the music from Amazon", but quantity counts in this case. Pepsi Stuff is known as a "massive collect-and-get program" where "consumers can download the most DRM-free music available anywhere," as Duncan Riley of TechCrunch.com wrote.

Don't go ahead and bank your points on the site just yet, this deal will show some results as of the first of February, so it's a two week or so wait for the anxious booming sound systems that you have installed. Looking at the songs that Pepsi used to give away as iTunes downloads, trust me, it's all worth the wait.

The death of DRM was inevitable and was predicted over a year ago and now here it is, the top dogs in the race going for the deals that would sell the most DRM-free music. It would be interesting to see the way Apple and its iTunes react to this, but I reckon that there'll be a while until they manage to come up with a similar offer to be able to drag users back to their shop.

The good old Coke vs Pepsi fight has now been taken to a new level, many users being saddened that there's no similar program from their favorite red labeled soda. But guess what? It's been added another dimension. I'm seeing major conflict between Amazon and iTunes here as well.
