Player X, a renowned mobile media company based in London, UK, has announced the upcoming availability of two new mobile games based on the Buzz! and Destruction Derby franchises, currently available only for PlayStation.

Owned by Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS) and licensed to Player X, the mentioned franchises will be morphed into mobile games and released in the near future. For the next three years, the British company will have exclusive rights to distribute the two new titles across Europe.

The Buzz! franchise consists of quiz games and "simple multiplayer buzzer action". Thus, quiz fans in need of a good mobile game of this kind will surely be happy when Player X's creation is released.

With a history of more than ten years, Destruction Derby is one of the most popular racing games for PlayStation. Thanks to Player X, the stock-car wrecking and the adrenaline of racing will soon hit mobile phones, too.

Talking about the future mobile games, Michael Denny, Senior Vice President at Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios Europe, declared, "The creative proposals that came through from Player X were very encouraging and in line with what we are hoping to do with these two licenses. We are looking forward to seeing our games reach new audiences as well as those who are already acquainted with our titles".

"We are delighted to be working with SCE WWS on this," added Tony Pearce, Chief Executive Officer at Player X. "They are hugely enthusiastic about the mobile sector and Buzz! fits in perfectly with our gameshows roster. What's more, everybody knows Destruction Derby is a great racing game. We have huge hopes for both titles."

The Buzz! mobile game will be available from Player X starting this fall, while Destruction Derby is set to hit gamers' handsets at the beginning of 2009.
