With only five day until the customer availability of Windows Vista, yet another e-commerce website has the operating system in stock and is accepting orders. Newegg's website features four editions of Windows Vista: Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate. All the versions in stock are designed for 32-bits.

The editions of Vista offered by Newegg are for original equipment manufacturers, and as such the prices are considerably lower than those for the retail versions. For example, Windows Vista Home Basic, Single Pack DVD - 32 Bit costs just $99.99. This when the retail version of Home Basic has an estimated price of $199.00 and just an upgrade will cost $99.95.

Similarly, Window Vista Home Premium Single Pack DVD - 32 Bit comes with a price tag for just $119.99, while Microsoft has announced prices of $239.00 for a full license and $159.00 for the upgrade. Windows Vista Business Single Pack DVD - 32 Bit is at $149.99 a bargain compared with $299.00 and $199.00 that Microsoft estimates retailer will charge for a license and the upgrade.

Windows Vista Ultimate edition is the high end operating system from the Redmond Company, and as such, the price tag is $399.00 for a full license and $259.00 for the upgrade. However, the Vista Ultimate Single Pack DVD - 32 Bit for OEMs costs just $199.99.

The only downside to this offer is that, as these versions of the operating system have been designed for original equipment manufacturers, the Vista copies will be tied to the hardware. An OEM version of Windows Vista will not be transferable from one PC to another, and in the case of a major hardware upgrade, users will need to acquire another license.
