Electronic Arts kicked off a brand new promotion for the upcoming Bulletstorm, as players that pre-order the game using the company's online store will get a free downloadable copy of Shank.

Bulletstorm is one of the few all-new titles to appear at the beginning of the year, so the companies behind it, EA, its publisher, People Can Fly, its developer, and Epic Games, the owner of the studio, are backing it up with all their resources.

While Xbox 360 owners that get the Epic edition of Bulletstorm will be getting exclusive access into the Gears of War 3 multiplayer beta, PC owners are also on the receiving end of a very interesting deal.

If you pre-order the limited edition of the new first-person shooter from the online EA Store, you'll be getting a free copy of side scrolling beat-em up title Shank.

The Bulletstorm Limited Edition packs extra features like a blue armor set, a blue Peacemaker Carbine, a golden and a silver leash, six echo-mode maps as well as a skillpoint bonus in the Anarchy multiplayer mode.

As usual, EA is offering the Limited Edition at the same price as a regular game, so that's one more reason to pre-order the title immediately.

Shank, if you're not familiar with the downloadable title, is a retro-style side-scrolling beat-em up with cartoon-like graphics and lots of gory and over the top violence to indulge fans of arcade games.

It places you in Shank’s shoes, a guy who lost his family to criminals, and who must now take on waves of bad guys until he gets his revenge.

Bulletstorm, on the other hand, places you in the combat boots of Grayson Hunt, a space mercenary that crash lands, alongside his team, on an alien planet filled with mutants and various natural dangers, after they were betrayed by their leader.

They must now find the man who double crossed them, and kills as many bad guys as possible through lots of imaginative ways in order to rack up points.

Bulletstorm is out for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on February 22.
