Following a six-week long beta stage, BusyMac LLC has finally launched BusySync 2.0, featuring iCal and Google Calendar syncing capabilities. BusySync lets you share iCal calendars with family and coworkers on a local area
network without a dedicated server and with full read/write access.

BusySync sports a lot of nifty features among which Bonjour Networking is quite note-worthy. With this feature, users can automatically synchronize calendars with others on their local area network. No dedicated servers or network settings are required to configure. Multi-user editing is another BusySync asset. This allows multiple users to share and edit calendars with full read/write access. Changes made by one user are instantly synchronized with all others on the network.

As far as security within BusySync goes, you can set passwords for your calendars and protect them or to provide different groups of users with different access privileges including read/write, read-only, or no access whatsoever. Changes made to a shared calendar while disconnected from your home or office network are automatically synchronized when you return.

Needless to say, users will probably find BusySync's ability to sync iCal with Google Calendar as the most appealing of the lot. An Option to filter out Alarms and To-Dos from subscribed calendars is also available with the release of BusySync 2.0 which, by the way, is available right here under the form of a 30-day trial. Go ahead, give it a shot.

LAN/WAN syncing improvements, VPN compatibility, IPv6 and Back to My Mac compatibility have also been added with the latest version of BusyMac LLC's iCal-sharing tool, while meeting titles now have their source calendar appended in brackets to avoid Conflict Resolver errors.

Busimac LLC also confirms that BusySync will no longer appear to be "not responding" during long syncs and that it has also added a Reset Sync History button to Reset tab. BusySync 2.0 is backwards compatible with other BusySync 1.5 users on your network.
