Microsoft has announced it was ending support for Windows XP in 2014. This piece of news, in turn, ended up affecting the business sector because customers will have to find their solutions somewhere else.

Sources from inside Taiwan-based chassis markers cited by DigiTimes report that the demand for metal-alloy chassis notebooks will see a rise in demand in the second half of 2013. The trend is expected to last through 2014 as well.

Just yesterday, we saw HP unveil new lines of notebooks aimed for the business sector, so the forecast makes sense. Dell is also expected to roll out some business friendly devices in the near future with relatively low price tags.

Chassis manufacturer Catcher Technology reported it expects its metal chassis shipment ratio for the rest of 2013 to reach 40:60 and that it already received lots of orders for metal smartphones and tablets.
