The first Bush transistor radio was designed by Ogle Design and launched in 1959. It is still regarded as an icon of early radio design. Surprisingly, the Bush name disappeared from the British market during the 1980s. However, since the purchase of the brand by Alba electronics in 1986, it has once again become common, being used primarily on electronic goods produced in China.
Today, the company
has successfully managed to extend its retro radio range that is so popular among young consumers. The new addition to the company's portfolio is called TR04DABBLK. On the outside, the radio features a piano black high gloss model casing.
The best thing with this radio is that it looks like other high tech device, since it comes with the sophisticated touch-screen controls, so you can say goodbye to the old knobs twisting, to get to the radio station you want. Not to mention it boasts auto-tunes options and preset functions that allow the user to store 10 DAB and 10 FM favorite stations, at a single press of a button.
Its design incorporates both traditional and modern features and form shapes, being a great office gizmo and an excellent companion during summer nights' insomnia. I couldn't understand why they came up with such a strange codename as TR04DABBLK.
The radio comes with an incorporated two line LCD with blue LED backlight display, which makes the stations browsing possible even in total darkness. For the ones that are into retro flavored audio devices, the manufacturers have complimented the radio with a stylish handle and a classy 1950's Bush logo on the front cloth speaker, for an extra nostalgia touch.
As for the pricing and availability details, the radio is said to be marketed in UK with a 40 pounds price tag, starting this month.
