Yesterday, we wrote that a demo for Burnout Paradise was going to become available for download onto your Xbox 360/PS3 via Xbox LIVE Marketplace/PlayStation Store, on the 13th of December. That's today. Now (don't get scared it hasn't been canceled or anything) we can happily report that the demo version of EA's superb open-world racer is available for download.

Eager for some official word on the demo's offerings, EA has indded confirmed online play for it. It makes sense really, since the whole experience revolves around its online game modes. Single player comes second with Burnout Paradise. EA informs:

If you're online, invite up to three friends into your game and connect with them instantly using the EasyDrive online system. Once online, players can work cooperatively to complete three FreeBurn challenges or simply smash each other up and grab their Burnout Mugshots with the PLAYSTATIONEye and Xbox LIVE Vision cameras.

After playing the demo, some of you will most likely start looking under the couch for money, emptying drawers one at a time to start raising cash for the full experience. As such, here are some of the game's main features (confirmed by EA for the full version of Burnout Paradise):

■ True Open World Freedom - The entire city will be available from the outset, giving players the freedom to explore this immersive world known as Paradise City. Experience open world driving Burnout style as the action begins with you, but it doesn't have to end.

■ EasyDrive Online Social Gaming - See your friends online with the EasyDrive Friends List and connect with them instantly without having to wait or exit your game. Burnout Paradise is revolutionizing the way players jump on and offline, making it as simple and quick as possible.

■ Single-player Events - Choose from Race, Marked Man, Road Rage, and Stunt by pulling up to the numerous stoplights in the game to initiate the event. The action isn't forced any longer, as players have the freedom to start and even end a challenge at their leisure.

Also worth mentioning is that Burnout Paradise delivers brilliant, 60 frames per second HD graphics, something that goes both for the demo and the full game. So, what are you waiting for? Switch on that console and confirm your download!
