Not that Electronic Arts wasn't doing fine with just Need For Speed ProStreet on the horizon for the racing genre, but the company is doing everything in its power to please its fans again. This time around, EA is prepping to ship Burnout Paradise, an amazing open world racing game, where you can spin your wheels at the red light to let those online know that you mean business. A demo is soon to be available via PlayStation Network and Xbox Live, while the full game launches January 22nd, next year.

The giant publisher and developer of video games claims that Burnout Paradise will set new standards for online social gameplay, with a very well established online system and gameplay that has gamers entering "a freshly designed playground, filled with the most exciting jumps, gripping races and unrivalled excitement at every intersection."

As mentioned above, the great thing about Burnout Paradise is that players will have total freedom to explore and discover the world, and - by pulling up to any stoplight to spin your wheels - you'll be allowed to enter five high speed action challenges.

Not only can you go wherever you like in the free world of Burnout Paradise, but you can also DO whatever you like, by slamming, shunting and wrecking your rivals in these cross-town driving challenges. Here, you must also find the optimum route to the finish line, while taking care of your adversaries using any methods you can think of.

Alex Ward, Creative Director at EA Criterion says, "The Burnout series has always been about reinvention. Burnout Paradise does exactly that. This is the definitive Burnout experience because Paradise removes all restrictions, breaks all the rules and puts the control in your hands. We're taking risks with Paradise but we believe that every iteration of Burnout stands on its own and we feel Paradise is the best Burnout yet."

In the demo, you'll be racing in either Motor City or Big Surf Beach, pulling off stunts in Stunt mode and free-racing in your Hunter Cavalry car in search of the fastest Burnout Route. EA has also confirmed online play for the demo. There will be three online challenges to choose from, but you can also just smash each other up, grabbing your Burnout Mugshots. The demo will be available for PS3 and Xbox 360 via their respective Internet services this December.
