Racing games have always been about a fun-filled experience that gave you an adrenaline rush every time you took the virtual cars on a race against your friends or AI-controlled opponents through the streets of various cities and circuits.

Burnout Paradise was such a game, winning over a huge amount of fans and praise from the video game industry for its huge open world, very realistic cars and stunning physics mechanics, which detailed all of the crashes in which the player was involved during his races.

But for players who got bored of the game's Paradise City, the creators of the title, Criterion, together with its publisher, Electronic Arts, have just announced that a brand new piece of downloadable content, Big Surf Island, will be available to all Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 users tomorrow.

The new location will add to the already impressive map of Burnout Paradise and will include a big number of races, challenges and events through which players can progress in the singleplayer mode, which will feature a brand new license that needs to be upgraded, and in multiplayer, with friends and family over the Internet. Nine new vehicles will also be a part of this new update, all in order to make fans even more excited about it.

“Big Surf Island is the most fun players can have in Burnout Paradise and provides incredible value for money,” says Pete Lake, Big Surf Island producer at Criterion Games. “We listened to our community and built this massive new playground for them, taking everything they loved about the game and using it to make the Island as much fun as possible. Big Surf Island is packed full of action, everything is bigger and better, from the jumps, to the challenges, to the fun you’ll have playing there.”

The new DLC will be available on June 11, for 9.99 pounds sterling or 1000 MS Points, depending for which console you purchase it when it will be launched. Until it goes live though, you can browse through the big number of other DLC offerings that the game received, like the Toy Cars or Boost Specials pack, and improve your racing skills down the streets of Paradise City.
