It might be a new Burnout or a new Need for Speed game

Criterion Games, the developer of the Burnout destruction racing series, as well as of the more recent Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit title, has started teasing a new announcement.

Criterion made a name for itself by delivering the extremely impressive Burnout games, culminating with the last Burnout Paradise, a game that set the benchmark for open world racing games and for the delivery of downloadable content. The studio also impressed with NFS: Hot Pursuit back in 2010, managing to put the struggling racing series back on its feet with a great experience.

Now, after the downloadable Burnout Crash, Criterion’s Creative Director, Craig Sullivan, has teased on Twitter that the studio will have “lots to share over the coming months.”

While he didn’t reveal any other details, he admitted that the upcoming announcement was “going to be BIG.”

There’s no word on whether this might be a new, full-fledged Burnout game, or a new Need for Speed one, which was already leaked earlier this month. As such, expect more details once Criterion has the go ahead from Electronic Arts to provide them.
