Many of you racing fans out there are probably eagerly awaiting for Burnout 5 to come out. Criterian Games wasn't able so far to pin
point an exact release date but at least we have some new screens and media for your viewing pleasure.

The guys over at Operation Burnout have managed to get a hold of some new screens and media of the game which you can also enjoy here. Burnout 5 is set to come out on the PS3 and Xbox 360 sometime this year and will be published by EA. It will use the RenderWare engine and will be set in the fictional Paradise City. Apparently, it will have an open world much like the one in Test Drive Unlimited.

According to the director of game design at Criterion Games, Burnout 5 will be a "complete reinvention" of the series. Alex Ward also said: "To create truly next-generation gameplay, we needed to create a truly next-generation game, from top to bottom". Burnout 5 promises crash junctions and racing through the city and records will be kept on player's drivers licenses.

Another Burnout game was announced by EA in December of 2006, but this time, we're talking about a PSP and PS2 game. It is called Burnout Dominator. It will retain the core gameplay of the series as players will race at top speeds through many World Tour Events testing "Reckless skill-based" driving techniques. It will come out of the 26th of March this year. But first, check out the Burnout 5 next-gen screens below.
