You know what is the latest trend for seven start hotels? Why Windows Vista, of course. And talking about the "vista" offered by the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai... Burj Al Arab has Vista in every room.

On December 11, 2006, Microsoft's Windows Vista became available via volume licensing in Bahrain. The business availability of Windows Vista - accompanied by the 2007 Microsoft Office System and Microsoft Exchange 2007 - was announced at an event held in Manama, Bahrain. In this context, the most luxurious hotel in the world has become one of the early adopters of the Windows operating system.

"Our aim is to be different and an innovator at the cutting edge of technology" said Frederick Sabty, Director of IT at Burj Al Arab. "We offer the world's best service, the best food and beverages, the most luxurious accommodation, and the best IT. We wanted to make it even easier for our guests to access their e-mail messages, the Internet, and multi-media without the hassle of moving from one Web site or channel to the next. By becoming an early adopter of a new system, we are putting our guests on the first step of a big staircase because eventually they will all be using it for business and leisure." According to a Capgemini study commissioned by Microsoft, early adopters expect dramatic gains in productivity through capabilities that address core business issues in new ways.

"Companies we've talked to are looking at driving major revenue increases, improved responsiveness to customers and improved sales team win rates with the 2007 Microsoft Office system," said Ken Edwards, vice president of Capgemini. "The early adopters have realized cost savings through process workflow automation, easier access to information, improved collaboration with colleagues, and lower costs of compliance. It's all about creating better customer connections and empowering your people at less cost and with greater effectiveness."
