The freaky burgers will be served at a pop-up restaurant to mark the start of a new season of “The Walking Dead”

If Hannibal Lecter were real (and a big fan of fast food, which he really wasn't), there is little doubt that, come Tuesday, September 30, he would be visiting the UK.

He would be there to grab a bite of some seriously freaky burgers that are to be served at a pop-up restaurant in East London on said date.

Human flesh burgers are a real thing

The burgers, a photo of which is available next to this article, are the brainchild of a chef named James Tomlinson and one Miss Cakehead, who refers to herself as a freelance creative director specializing in scary foods.

What makes these burgers really special is the fact that they are made in such a way that, according to James Tomlinson and Miss Cakehead, they taste like and have the texture of human flesh.

Ground-up human flesh mixed with spices, cooked on a barbecue and then placed between two buns together with some cheese, onion rings, tomatoes and whatnot, to be more precise.

Rest assured, no actual human meat went into making these burgers. Thus, the recipe simply includes ingredients that, when put together, make it seem like you are eating your really obnoxious neighbors or in-laws.

Information shared with the public says that the burgers are basically a blend of pork, veal, bone marrow, and chicken livers. Apparently, James Tomlinson and Miss Cakehead settled on this recipe after reading testimonies signed by actual cannibals like explorer William Seabrook and murderer Issei Sagawa.

Of these people, William Seabrook described human flesh as being similar to “good, fully developed veal, not young, but not yet beef.” Issei Sagawa talked about its texture, and said that, when chewed, it melted “like raw tuna in a sushi restaurant.”

Why make human flesh burgers?

According to Oddity Central, James Tomlinson and Miss Cakehead did not come up with the idea to make these burgers and serve them to people in London on the very last day of September simply because they had nothing better to do with their time.

Thus, the two blood and gore enthusiasts say that they will serve their burgers to the general public as a means to mark the debut of the fifth season of hit TV show “The Walking Dead.” Interestingly enough, James Tomlinson and Miss Cakehead believe that many people will want to give their burgers a try.

For the time being, it is still unclear where exactly in East London these chefs will set up their pop-up restaurant. Hopefully, more information will soon be shared with us ordinary folks and zombie diet aficionados.
