The fast food giant promised us the bizarre Flame-Grilled perfume weeks ago, launched it right on schedule

A few weeks back, fast food giant Burger King announced that, come April 1, it would launch a beef-scented perfume. Since April 1 also goes by the name of April Fools' Day, pretty much everybody assumed the announcement to be a hoax.

Well, it looks like Burger King was not toying with us. Just yesterday, the fast food giant actually launched its beef-scented Flame-Grilled perfume in Japan, just as promised. Even weirder, people knowingly and willingly bought a bottle or two for themselves and the loved ones.

The perfume was only available for one day, i.e. April 1, and it sold for 5,000 yen (€39 / $42) a bottle, The Verge informs. Those ill-inspired enough to buy it also got a Whopper Burger on the house, just so they could compare scents.

The bad news is that, contrary to what many expected, the perfume's selling price didn't include a complimentary drink or at least a serving of fries. Yup, people had to cough up extra cash to enjoy a meal and not just gulp down the Whopper while sniffing their newly acquired perfume.

The absolute worst news: word has it that the Flame-Grilled didn't smell anything like a hamburger. Not unless hamburgers are supposed to smell foul and disgusting, and make you sick.
