Project done based on Apple's current mobile OS and "leaked" information

Graphic designer Edgar Rios has released an intriguing set of images depicting iOS 7 and Healthbook running on the rumored iWatch that is said to launch later this year. Of particular interest is his view of a Burberry-branded version of the smart-watch.

Based in Roma-Los Saenz, TX, USA, Edgar Rios wants to make it big in Communication Design, and he’s not shy of showing off his talents on Behance.net, the go-to network for creatives.

His latest work is clear evidence that he’s in the loop with all the Apple rumors, including the fact that the fruity company is taking aboard the CEO of British fashion house Burberry.

We speculated in a recent editorial that Angela Ahrendts, the CEO in question, would be taking up her job with Apple as head of retail specifically to spur sales of the expensive iWatch. We don’t know for sure if that’s true or not, but it makes sense if KGI Securities is right about Apple positioning the product as a luxury item (at least in its high-end form).

Apparently, Rios doesn’t think it’s farfetched either. His iWatch concept up on Behance includes various instances of the smart-watch, one of which depicts a Burberry-themed version. Although it’s highly unlikely for Apple to join forces with the British fashion company to the sell the product, we imagine it would be marketed exactly like this, were it the case.

He’s modest too. Unlike other designers who toss around surreal specifications and impossible industrial design, Rios leaves a small set of clean images and thanks viewers for their support: “just a vision I had, we're all still waiting to see what Apple ends up making for us,” he writes.

Other images he shares offer a glimpse of what the iWatch would look like with iOS 7, and one in particular shows Healthbook displayed on the small touchscreen. Of note, Healthbook is said to be part of iOS 8, not iOS 7.

Rios’ work is satisfying from a visual standpoint, especially the Burberry-themed model, but we can’t help but wonder if Apple will release something as simple as this. The concept seems doable, though the Cupertino comany may need some extra oomph to differentiate its own smart-watch from the Samsung Gear watches.

Analysts tell us that we should finally catch a glimpse of the real thing later this year, perhaps as early as the Worldwide Developers Conference in June.
