The development team at Bungie and tech creator Interactive Data Visualization announce that they are collaborating to integrate SpeedTree into the upcoming Destiny video game project.

The two companies state that the technology will be used to enhance the artistic vision of the new universe.

Michael Sechrest, the president of Interactive Data Visualization, says, "Bungie had very specific needs and challenges for Destiny, including scalability from current to next-generation hardware. SpeedTree was designed with these sorts of requirements in mind."

In Destiny, players will be able to explore complex alien worlds, as they act as the final guardians of the last city remaining on Earth.

The shooter will allow for deep character customization and will also add a social angle to the core gameplay.

Destiny will be launched in 2014 on the current and next generation of consoles.
