Bungie is drawing inspiration from a lot of different TV shows for its upcoming Destiny shooter, as the studio not only studied sci-fi series like Battlestar Galactica, but also dramas like Lost or The Wire.

Destiny was revealed to the world earlier this year and lots of Bungie fans are already eagerly awaiting the release of the online shooter that promises to deliver a constantly changing world based on the players’ actions.

Not only the world but also the story is going to change as players engage in Destiny, according to Design Director Joe Staten, who told GameSpot that he and his team studied many dramatic TV shows like Lost, The Wire, or Battlestar Galactica, just to understand how to build longer plot threads and stories.

Destiny has a futuristic premise in which players need to defend a single human city against all sorts of aliens and enemies.
