After embarking on the journey of creating its first game after leaving Micorosoft behind, Halo developer Bungie is working together with publisher Activision to create one of the biggest games that are coming our way this fall, Destiny.

Destiny Director of Production Jonty Barnes has recently talked to OXM, and during the interview, discussing mainly the future of Destiny and how the first-person shooter will alter the way we see cooperative multiplayer interactions in the genre and beyond, he also touches upon the upcoming Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

"Well, for me personally - I didn't work on the first Halo, I came in as an executive producer on Halo 3 and for me Halo 1 was one of the reasons why I was very keen to come and work with Bungie, so it's very meaningful for me to see that brought up to modern graphics fidelity," Barnes comments on the issue.

343 Industries took over the franchise from Bungie, and it's preparing to release a remastered edition including all four games in the series, headed exclusively to the Xbox One on November 11 in North America and November 14 in Europe.

While thoroughly invested in the upcoming Destiny, the creators of the original Halo games undoubtedly also follow the evolution of the upcoming Halo: The Master Chief Collection, featuring their best games, modernized and spruced-up.

"As a community of people in the North-West of America - I'm great friends with Josh Holmes and Chris Lee, for example, they're people I have a lot of respect for - and I think once we moved our studio firmly into Destiny we're just keen to make sure that the things we valued in Halo continue and [343] has worked really hard too, in both taking their own direction, but also to put their own identity on it."

"And it's been... as a player of games, it's been great to see, and I'm very interested in what they're doing next, but I'm sure they don't worry about what we're doing, and we don't worry about what they're doing - we're just consumers of the games," Barnes explains.

In addition to this, 343 Industries is also working on Halo 5: Guardians, which should come out sometime near the end of 2015 as an Xbox One exclusive title, for which they plan to organize a closed beta testing session kicking off at the end of the year and lasting through January 15.

"Yeah, it's amazing to see how well Halo has lasted and those games resonate with people still, and there's going to be new players of Halo and they're going to understand what Bungie created and hopefully they'll be Bungie fans and playing Destiny too - I think there's plenty of room for both!" Barnes concludes.

Destiny is expected to come out on September 9, headed for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One platforms.
