Developer Bungie has announced good news for all players in dire need of new places to shoot aliens in the face in the recently released sci-fi first-person shooter Destiny, in the form of two new public events, Combined Arms and The Queen's Wrath.

The events are hot on the heels of the recently opened Vault of Glass, the first of Destiny's raids, that went live a few days ago and was completed merely 10 hours afterward, by an intrepid team of virtual assassins suffering from ADHD and OCD.

All joking aside, the competitive side of any massively multiplayer online video game sees a lot of talented individuals racing to the top, for the coveted "world first" completion of any newly released content, and we'll see a lot more of these as Bungie unveils the whole breadth of content it prepared for Destiny.

Combine your arms, valiant Guardians!

The Combined Arms event is a special Crucible playlist that focuses mainly on mounted combat, kicking off today and running through the weekend.

Heavy Ammo drops will be abundant, in order to make sure that the players involved in the massive vehicular combat-oriented event won't have to use peashooters to take down their enemies.

The rewards for those taking part in Combined Arms include various Crucible Gear, as well as Crucible Marks and Crucible Reputation. Players will group up into fireteams of six and will drive into the sunset, seeking supremacy and glory on the battlefield.

"Nor hell a fury like a woman scorned"

In case you're not such a big fan of PvP action and would rather like to mass-murder the virtual inhabitants of Destiny's universe, The Queen's Wrath will take off next week, running from September 23 through October 6.

The Queen's Wrath is a piece of PvE content that consists of a series of challenging mission modes and new bounties for players to explore, with a lot of rewards waiting for those brave and skilled enough, including unique legendary gear and rare items.

In addition to this, Bungie has announced that there will be plenty more coming in September, revealing that a Savage playlist is set to go live sometime in the future. Furthermore, a new Crucible playlist will be introduced in October, ominously titled Iron Banner, and teasing something about how "Champions are born in battle."

The game was released on September 9, and is currently available on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
