The team is always looking for relevant feedback from fans

The development team at Bungie has a clear plan to continue gathering info and feedback about its new Destiny title after it launches in order to use all the info to determine how it will change the game via both updates and downloadable content packs.

Jonty Barnes, the director of production working on the shooter, tells Joytiq that “Already from the beta we learned about how to tune the players' experiences to be better experiences. We're going to continuously update the game from now until the end of time. That's always going to be part of the philosophy of Destiny. We always wanted to build a new universe but keep building upon it, rather than to do a complete and utter restart periodically.”

Bungie has said earlier that it wants to run Destiny as a game for a ten-year period and has a clear plan for how the game will look and play at that point.

The first piece of DLC for the title, called The Dark Below, is already in development and will be launched before the end of the year, although the studio has not talked clearly about what gamers will get by buying it.

Barnes also says that those who actually manage to finish all the content Destiny can offer at one point can always jump into another class to get a new type of challenge.

The company is very happy with the fact that almost a third of all those who took part in the beta have chosen the Warlock, the Titan, or the Hunter, showing that each can offer a unique experience and interesting abilities.

The developer adds, “And even with those people who chose to have second characters were of equal level again, so that was awesome to see. It's really cool. That was a great reassurance out of the beta because that was our intention, but you never know when you've got 4.6 million players or more. So that was a big win.”

None of the characters that have been created in the massive Destiny beta can be transferred to the final version of the title, which will be launched on September 9 of this year on the PC, the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and last-gen consoles.

The Dark Below does not yet have an official launch date, and Bungie has a deal with Sony to deliver some exclusive content for PlayStation platforms.

The game is designed to exist as a living, evolving project for a period of ten years.
