Gamers need to pay attention to the Interntional Date Line

The development team at Bungie says that gamers who own a copy of Destiny will be able to start playing the game as soon as the official launch date, September 9, rolls around anywhere in the world, following the International Date Line.

The information comes from the official Twitter account of the company, and that means that basically gamers will be able to start playing one day early, as long as they have access to a copy of the game that they have acquired legally.

The announcement might also mean that a number of retail chains will be under pressure from gamers to deliver the boxed version of Destiny as soon as possible in order to allow them to gain access and start building up their Guardian character.

Presumably, Bungie already has all the server infrastructure up and running for the game and has made all the tweaks based on the feedback that was delivered during the alpha and the beta testing phases.

Most fans have reacted positively to the announcement coming from the company, but some are concerned that a number of players will be able to get early access to the shooter and will have a head start when it comes to competitive content.

Destiny is set to be launched on September 9 all over the world, and the title can be played on the Xbox One from Microsoft, the PlayStation 4 from Sony and last-gen consoles.

Rumors have also been appearing regularly about a PC version of the game that might arrive at a later date during the year, but Bungie and its publishing partner have not offered any comment on them.

The PlayStation platforms will be getting access to exclusive content for the title, which other players might also be able to download in about one year.

Bungie also says that it is currently working on the first piece of downloadable content for its shooter, called The Dark Below, which is scheduled to arrive for all players before the end of the year and to be tightly integrated into the core game world.

Destiny is a first-person shooter experience that borrows a lot of elements from the massive multiplayer online and the role-playing game genres.

Players will be able to create a Guardian, customize his appearance, and then explore a complex world filled with lore and stories, battling a range of enemies in order to protect the final city on Earth.
