Gamers will have to use their skills to get access to superior equipment

The development team at Bungie is suggesting that its upcoming Destiny will not have any microtransactions for items.

In a Questions & Answers session on its own site, the development team states, “What we can tell you right now is that the rewards you will gain by playing Destiny – and playing it well – will be earned. You will carve them from the hides of your enemies, after you stomp them into the ground of your favorite destinations.”

The game is currently in pre-alpha state, which means that many details about the final experience are still to be decided.

A lack of microtransactions for items does not mean that players will be unable to buy other in-game elements, like boosts or extra content.

Destiny will be offered on the PlayStation 4 from Sony, the Xbox One from Microsoft and current generation consoles in 2014.
