Here’s a story for anyone who’s ever been bullied or who knows someone who is victim of bullying but feels they can do nothing about it: there is a way to fight back peacefully, as Halsey Parkerson of the South Salem High School in Oregon has learned the other day.

Halsey has been bullied for quite some time for his looks so, when his aunt found out about it, she decided to take matters into her own hands and show the bully he had picked on the wrong person.

As the KATU video report below can confirm, the aunt found out about the bullying when she dropped Halsey to school one day and she overheard another boy telling him that he had “no friends,” never had and never would.

Upset but determined to teach the bully a lesson, she went on Facebook and got her friends, all of them members of a car club, to show up at Halsey’s school to encourage him and, at the same time, to let him know he should never believe what a bully told him.

Yes, technically they were not his friends because he’d probably never seen some of them in his life, but the mere fact that they were standing up for him spoke volumes.

About 100 people in 50 cars showed up, giving Halsey the surprise of a lifetime. The school principal had no idea they would be there and was initially confused as to what was happening in the parking lot.

Speaking of which, the same report notes that Halsey’s Facebook friends took him to confront his bully, who asked not to be named or shown on camera. He apologized and high-fived the boy he had been tormenting until then.

Halsey wants his experience to be a message for all victims of bullying. “If you're being bullied, stand up and express yourself,” he says.
