A man from High Ridge, Missouri has devised a bulletproof cup to help protect men's private parts in the event of a shooting.

According to KSDK, the Army is interested in the product created by Jeremiah Raber in his basement. He will be sending them the cup for testing this August.

"It is a bullet resistant groin protection device," Raber describes, adding that his product is “the world's strongest cup."

Raber's invention protects from 9-millimeter handgun and .22-caliber pistol bullets. He believes that it might have proved useful to one of the officers shot during a chase on the MIT campus, when police were hounding the Boston Marathon bombing suspects.

It could also be used in the Army, where 1,000 soldiers are injured in their private areas every single year.
