The Chinese enterprise broadens its horizons by opening a new headquarter in Los Angeles. The company operates on the market of electric vehicles, providing innovative, green technologies, such as solar-powered systems, eco-friendly rechargeable batteries and improved parking light systems.

BYD has more than 200,000 employees worldwide, so far. Their expansion on the North American market will imply the creation of thousands of other jobs.

It seems that experts established that this growth on the international market will increase the selling numbers for pure electric vehicles, all-electric eBUS commercial buses, LED and solar street and parking light systems, cell phone components and residential solar systems.

Since the company has already established its position on the market, as a top enterprise focused on developing green alternatives to present technologies, the officials are now keen on establishing partnerships so that their target can become visible in the Los Angeles area, as well.

BUY is offering all its support to its partners, while covering key sectors represented by education and research.

Talking about their achievement, the company's representatives are very optimistic, and seem to think that they won't experience issues while adapting to the new conditions.

“BYD is thrilled to be making this investment in Los Angeles, a global city working towards a green, sustainable future. We look forward to a long, productive relationship with the City, and thank Mayor Villaraigosa and his team for their hard work and dedication to recruiting green businesses to Los Angeles,” declared BYD Chairman Chuanfu Wang.

The company's name is already known on the international market, after BYD managed to rank among the 8 most innovative companies on the planet, in a study elaborated by the prestigious Businessweek Technology in 2010.

BYD already managed to seal its first deal, after it announced a partnership with Hertz Car Rental. The company will bring the benefits of its all-electric eBUS bus to Los Angeles International Airport, decreasing the level of CO2 emissions, while also helping its partner save up to $500,000.

Officials from Hertz seem to be very excited about the collaboration.

“We are committed to sustainability, and this partnership with BYD creates very exciting opportunities for us in Los Angeles and throughout the nation,” declared Richard Broome, senior vice president, Corporate Affairs and Communications for the Hertz Corporation.

BYD succeeded in building a solid position among its competitors after gaining the trust of major telecommunication companies, such as Nokia, Samsung and Motorola.
