Fans loved Nicholas Brendon as the goofy but very endearing and reliable Xander on the hit television series “
Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” Just recently, in real life, Brendon showed a
less-friendly side of him as he got into an altercation with police officers, a dispute that saw him chased, tased, arrested and then hospitalized as
Radar Online reports.
What started the commotion is not yet known, the only certainty at this point being that the 38-year-old actor deemed it a wise choice to flee from the cops, who had been summoned by someone reporting an intoxicated man causing a ruckus. However, before running from police officers, Brendon also took a swing at them, which is most surely what made him flee in the first place. The entire adventure ended with the actor in police custody and a visit to the hospital for he was tased twice.
“Buffy the Vampire Slayer actor Nicholas Brendon was shot with a Taser gun before he was arrested Wednesday, Radar Online has learned. Police pursued Brendon, 38, after they were called to a Venice, California location after reports came in that a drunken man was acting disorderly,” Radar writer. The brouhaha only augmented when police officers arrived on the scene, the report goes on to say.
“Police said Brendon tried to throw a punch at the officers who showed up, then attempted to flee the scene, to no avail. Police said they shot the actor with a Taser gun two times, and arrested him on felony vandalism charges in connection with property he damaged during the incident,” Radar explains. As per other reports, Brendon was also taken to the hospital for an evaluation and was presumably discharged very quickly.
Other US media outlets say that the actor remains in police custody at this time, after having been charged with felony vandalism. His bail has been set at $20,000, it’s being said.
