The BSKP-CU202/SV does conference calling

If you're into the Skype popular conference calls that involve even your mother-in-law, then you'll probably like this. Japanese based Buffalo sells a new Skype phone: the BSKP-CU202/SV.

The phone looks like an awkward spaceship and it's designed to be wall mounted or placed on your desktop. It has all the features you would expect in a Skype phone. The BSKP-CU202/SV comes with a built-in microphone that allows teleconference calls with multiple users at one time. The speaker is a high output design with 6 W of total power (4W main + 1W side x 2).

Unlike other Skype phones, no drivers are necessary for the phone. You only need to connect it to your PC via an USB port. You should enjoy the echo cancellation technology. There's also an integrated headphone jack in the rear, just in case you need to switch to a private conversation. The phone is compatible with all Windows OS as well as with other operating systems.

Now, if only they had included the Motorola's new tech that determines a pitch contour for each individual's voice signal! Motorola said that it would've probably helped you, especially if the voices of two of collocutors sound pretty similar. Come to think of it, talking to people who don't sound like themselves will probably lead to muting the wrong persons (I'm guessing that's not a pretty good idea after all).

Too bad the phone is only available in Japan. Buffalo's new Skype phone sells for $82 (9,800 Yen).
