Buffalo's 500 GB MiniStation TurboUSB

When it comes to having the possibility of carrying with you as much data as you need, we are talking big storage room. A helpful hand for such a person is given by Buffalo Technology through the launch of its new 500 GB USB Drive in the United States, on Monday.

The MiniStation TurboUSB Drive runs at a speed of 5,400 revolutions per minute and it can offer 30% faster transfer rate than other USB drives. It is both USB 2.0 and 1.1 compatible and features a wraparound cable which can be used when traveling. Its dimensions are quite reduced, as it measures only 5 inches by 0.8 of an inch by 3.3 inches and consumes a maximum of 2.5 watts.

Buffalo used its Shock Resistant technology to protect the drive from any physical damage. The drive is protected from bumps or drops, being surrounded by shock-absorbing material and also being suspended between its plastic chassis which is impact resistant. Also, Buffalo's SecureLockWare prevents data from being accessed by any unauthorized persons, in case the drive is lost or stolen.

The portable drive can be attached to any PC or Mac, and it does not require any kind of drivers, as it is pre-formatted and ready to use. The fact that it is both Windows and Mac OS X compatible gives it even more functionality. Also, it comes with Memeo's AutoBackup features, which assures you that your data is well protected.

Buffalo tried to show its dedication to creating high performance and also to developing reliable products that come to fulfill consumers' needs.
