14 DAY TRIAL // Either Hollywood has completely run out of original ideas or fairytales are about to become the new comic book. Another live action movie based on a fairytale is in the works – and it just got a brand new trailer.
Although FX seem at an early stage, overall, “Jack the Giant Killer” appears quite promising.
As one can easily imagine, it's meant to be an adult approach to the tale of Jack and the Beanstalk. Because of said adult approach, the plot is a bit more complicated – and also includes an ancient war between humans and giants, and a gateway that is opened once the magical beans get wet.
“Jack the Giant Killer” stars Nicholas Hoult, Eleanor Tomlinson, Stanley Tucci, Ian McShane, Bill Nighy and Ewan McGregor. In other words, quite an impressive cast.
It's directed by Bryan Singer, he of the “X-Men” fame, and will be out in theaters on June 15, 2012.
