For the past week, there’s been a lot of talk about how Bryan Cranston would make a perfect Lex Luthor in Zack Snyder’s upcoming “Man of Steel” sequel “Batman vs. Superman.” It all leads back to an unconfirmed report from Comic Book News.
Citing the usual reliable insiders, the e-zine says that Cranston has been cast as the villain in the film, and has already agreed to a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 10 appearances.
“Think of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury popping up in every Marvel movie in the run-up to Avengers,” CBN writes, adding that Ben Affleck has also agreed to a 13-appearance deal for Batman.
“Cranston truly is a dream casting for Luthor,” says an insider.
While there’s no denying that Cranston would absolutely, without a doubt, make a perfect Lex Luthor (have you seen his Walter White on “Breaking Bad”?), there’s a very strong possibility that the above report is nothing short of wishful thinking.
In fact, it might have originated from something Cranston himself said a couple of weeks back, about how Lex Luthor was “misunderstood.” “Give me a call. I like Lex Luthor,” he said.
Not to burst your bubble, but this is how the Internet occasionally works: some actor says something about a part he’d like to play, and rumors start circulating, linking him “officially” for the role.
